What it is

How it works
- Creates driving lanes through spacing
- Makes switching defenses vulnerable to mismatches and ghost/flat screens
- Maximizes the value of 3-point shooting relative to mid-range
- Generates the highest-efficiency shot diet (3s and rim attempts)
Reads and counters
- Read the low man: if he stays attached to the corner shooter, drive the open lane to the rim; if he tags the drive, kick to that corner.
- On a ball-screen up top, read the big: versus drop take the pull-up three; versus hedge or blitz slip into the short-roll 4-on-3.
- When they switch everything, attack the resulting mismatch immediately before help loads, or post the smaller defender before the dig arrives.
- Cutters read their defender's eyes: when he turns to watch the ball, backdoor-cut through the vacated rim space for a layup or dump-off.
- Passers read the second-side rotation: when one pass triggers a closeout, swing or skip to the next shooter so the defense scrambles.
