Reads and counters
- The driver reads his on-ball defender's hips: if beaten, attack downhill; if walled off, kick to the nearest relocated shooter.
- Read the low-man helper — if he stunts in to tag the drive, skip the ball to his man in the corner for a catch-and-shoot three.
- On a closeout, read the defender's momentum: shot-fake and drive the trailing foot, or attack-and-spray to the open weak side.
- With no post to clog the lane, the help defender's first step tells the driver whether to finish at the rim or dump to the dunker-spot relocator.
- In transition, the trailer reads whether two defenders pick up the ball; if so, push for an early drag screen or kick ahead to a sprinting wing.
